ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Course director and main teacher Hélène Olivier-Courtney hails from Tours in the Loire valley.

She arrived in Ireland in 1995 to work as a language tutor in NUI Galway. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in teaching French as a Foreign Language, level 9 on the Irish NFQ.

Her expertise in teaching French also comes from her passion for her work, continuous development and extensive experience throughout all the Irish education system including  primary school teaching for national initiatives,

( Modern Languages in Primary Schools and the ‘Say Yes to Languages’ module under Post Primary Ireland), private and public secondary schools, third level (Alliance francaise, Institut de Touraine France, Its and universities) and further education.

Settled in Kerry since 2004, she has been  forging links with French towns and schools and organises trips to France for her hard working adult students!
